With no classes for the last 2 months because of summerholidays, the classes continue. Allthough I didn't practice a lot, I dance the Beginners Reel the first time without any mistake.
I run into problems with the Single Jig when I reach the third set of steps. I'm already thinking in the second set of steps what I need to do next and that has its consequences.

Light Jig? Slip Jig?

I try to get my brain around the third dance I got to practice just before the end of the season.
I think it's the Light Jig for a while, but when I ask one of the girls to show me the lead-around, I can only think that I saw another dance and certainly not the Light Jig. I lost the name, but considering I only got a few steps so far, that's not such a disaster.

Better stamina

After the first time I dance the Reel, I notice a big difference when it comes to my stamina. When I'm thinking about the next steps of the Single Jig, I notice that I'm tired, but not as exhausted (by far!) as in the past season. Practice sure worked!

Kick yourself

I dance away on my heavy shoes quite nicely. I do kick myself in the toes once again. This time the right tip meets my left big toe and where the tip kind of ricocheted last few times, I hit it grand this time.
If you think the tough leather at the nose of the shoes provides some protection: forget it. The blow comes in hard and I immediately take my shoe of to see if my nail is still intact. No messy, bloody situations and also my nail is still in one piece (much to my surprise).

Sore muscles!

The day after I'm greeted by quite the sore muscles, but it's still nothing compared to what I experienced in September 2013, when I started dancing again after a break that lasted 1,5 years and made me end up having a hard time walking for 4 days after because I was in so much pain.
In the evening, things get worse though. Even to the point that I leave bed to do a bit of stretching. I can surely tell I didn't wear my heavy shoes for 2 months as everything hurts where my feet normally meet the heel and tip.
